So, I just discovered a new amazing Christmas treat. They are Spree candy canes. I took
two with me, and the rest are on my four foot Christmas tree. They won't stay there for
long. LOL.

Hershey chocolates. They are shaped like bells and some are plain, some have nuts in the center.
They come wrapped in pretty colored foil.
I only eat them this time of year.
Been fortunit this year to have a supplier.
Laughing.
Yum!

I'm a white chocolate person myself. My mom makes white chocolate peanut butter balls
for my step dad and myself.

I personally love the flavored candy canes!

I really get excited about homemade peanut brittle at Christmas time. It's good any time of the year, but somehow I think it's better at Christmas.

Thanks for your input guys. I'm about to give up most food. So, please keep filling my
head with your Christmas food orgasms. ☺️

Eggnog. Oh my god eggnog. I don't know why, but I love this stuff.

Also, a version of checks mix my dad makes. He calls it "munch". Basically uses checks, plain cheerios, unsalted pretzels and unsalted peanuts. You bake it together with margarine, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, onion salt and celery salt. That much salt can't be good for you, but god is it ever tasty. A nice savoury treat to nibble on. I think I'm gonna make some of my own this year.

Also also, the chewy thicker sort of gingerbread cookie that usually shows up around this time of year. Love 'em to death.

I also used to get a Toblorone bar in my stocking every year, so there's some nostalgia there. I like those too.

Christmas was also the time I got introduced for the first time to Scotch mints. They're not a Christmas-themed treat, exactly, and I don't eat them much anymore, but yeah.

chocolate-covered pretzels, frosted cookies with sprinkles, shortbread cookies ... need i say more? ugh, eggog makes me nauseated, so I'll pass.

frosted gingerbread cookies. real fudge, either homemade or those boxes of it that you slice up. Dar chocolate with nuts, or peanut butter. Gingerbread houses are good when people make those.

Pizzelles

Post 11 by Shadow_Cat (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Thursday, 08-Dec-2016 5:05:42

Imp, what are pizzelles?

Mine include: fudge, since Christmas is the only time of year I usually get it. Reese's Christmas trees. they're way better than the regular Reese's peanut butter cups, mostly because they have more peanut butter. Ginger snaps and hot chocolate.

Pizzelles are Italian waffle cookies. They can be crunchy or chewy depdnding on the ingredients used and the baking temp and duration. I like mine somewhere in between. Never made them myself but one of these days I'll get a pizzelle iron and learn how.

Pizzelles are traditionally flavored with anise (yuck) but I've also had them in chocolate (favorite) and lemon.

I love the taste of eggnog, but it makes me sick so I can't drink it. I also like ginger cookies, fudge (mmmm fudge) and tyropitas. not a traditional Christmas treat but my grandma makes them every year and they're so good. Also spinach dip. And brownies, all sorts of cookies....

Yay brownies!

Pizzelles are actually Polish.

I love the chocolate snowmen with the Marshmallow filling by Russell Stover! They are so good and so are the chocolate Santas.

I also love flavored candy canes; I don't like the mint ones; I like the flavored ones more. I once had this treat; it was a Cinnimon candy cane, and the bottom part, not the hook part, was dipped in chocolate and it had sprinkles on it.

As far as eggnog, they say not to eat raw cookie dough because it has raw egg in it, but eggnog is raw egg, so what's the difference?

There are these Christmas treats we used to make they are called Rudolph noses. You take the square pretzels, the ones that feel like a waffle. You put a Hershey kiss on top of each one. Then you put it in the oven for about 30 seconds, just enough time for the kisses to melt a little. Then you put an m&m on top of each one. You can also do this with a Roll O. And you can use any kind of Hershey kiss or any kind of m&m you like. The only problem is, the chocolate falls off the pretzels, so if I ever make these again I would try leaving the pretzels in the oven longer.
